Product Characteristics
It can be dissolved in glycerol, pyridine, hot glycol, acetic acid, formaldehyde and other organic solvents. It is slightly soluble in water and ethanol, but insoluble in ether, benzene and carbon tetrachloride. It can form salt if reacting with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, acetic acid and oxalic acid etc. In the neutral or slightly alkaline condition, it may condense with formaldehyde to form all hydroxymethyl melamines. Additionally, in the slightly acidic (PH 5.5-6.5) condition, it may generate a resin product by a polycondensation reaction with hydroxymethyl derivatives. Melamine is decomposed into ammonia and carbon dioxide at high temperature (300℃) and high pressure (8.0Mpa).
Applications
Melamine, a widely-used organic chemical product, is mainly used to produce melamine-formaldehyde resin.This resin is a type of amino plastic. Since its hardness is higher than that of urea-formaldehyde resin, it is non-f lammable, water-resistant, heat-resistant, aging-resistant, arc-resistant and chemically resistant, while it is characterized by excellent insulation performance, gloss, and mechanical strength. For these reasons, it is an indispensable chemical raw material for industries like wood, plastics, coatings, paper-making, textiles, leather, and electric appliance. Melamine can also be used as a f lame retardant, water reducer, formaldehyde cleaner, and so on.

Product storage and transportation notes
It shall be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, away from open f lames and heat sources. Additionally, it shall be stored separately from oxidizers and acids; please avoid to mix and store with other materials. Ensure intact packaging and secure loading when shipping. During the transportation, you shall ensure that the container does not leak, tip over, fall, or get damaged. It is forbidden to mix and transport with oxidizers. It shall be prevented from exposure to sunlight, rain and high temperature during the transportation.
